This happening is inspired by Judy Chicago’s Dinner Party. Feminist artists of the 1970s concerned with developing a radical critique of patriarchy used dinner parties as fertile territory for artistic experimentation. In a 1978 interview, the artist stated ‘women have never had a Last Supper, but they have had dinner parties where they facilitated conversation and nourished people. Chicago created a feminist monument honouring women’s cultural, spiritual, and historical importance in Western Civilization.
