Can a cohabitation between luxury and sustainability exist?
This project identifies whether a cohabitation between luxury and sustainability is possible, through the lens of a commuting cycling accessory. Supported by lectures, workshops, and on-site explorations, this collaborative work aims also to demonstrate the ability to learn from others as well as specialists from the relevant field.
Designing products for a purpose-driven business is a very contemporary challenge regarding Today’s ways of consumption. Our work was also informed by  the ‘Nations United Sustainable Development Goals’, which aim to radically transform our economies and societies for 2030.

MOORPH
Welcome to Moorph, a sub-brand of Brooks England.
Moorph is the only British-made sustainable leather bike seat that provides in-depth customization for its customers while supporting the craft industry in the UK and Malawi.
Moorph aims to fill a gap in the market to bring high-performance technology to recreational cyclists.
While cycle analysis and precision seat technology are normally reserved for athletes, Moorph feels that no cyclist should compromise style for comfort. Considered taboo, pain in the rear while cycling can lead to significant discomfort and medical issues.

Quick release mechanism
Moorph understands that a custom bicycle seat is precious to you. That’s why we designed a unique quick-release mechanism to allow you to easily take your seat with you when leaving your bicycle outside.
Mounted by technicians directly on the bike, the seat efficiently slides out of the seat mount. It can be clipped back into place when ready to ride and is assured to stay securely in place.
The brand is proud to partner with Cycle of Good, a social enterprise network designed to help create a self-sustaining economy in Malawi. For every refurbished bike sold in the UK, one is donated to be transformed and sold by mechanics at the hub in the Chilomoni township.
Along with these bikes, discarded inner tubes are also sent to the hub, where the tailoring school at Cycle of Good uses them to create unique recycled products.
The quick-release mechanism works.
